I don't know much about X-23 - would you be able recommend any collected editions that you think might be a good place to start finding out a little more about the character?
thanks

I can't help you there, Zaius, but I did want to say that what makes this character interesting is the fact that she started out in a tv show and moved to print, just like Harley Quinn. I can only vaguely recall the X-Men evolution episodes she was in.

;D ;D ;D Zaius: I suggest you start with X-23's origin, which begins in the 6-issue mini-series " X-23: Innocence Lost": then continue with " X-23: Target X", which is also a 6-issue mini-series (AND REMAINS AS MY #1 MARVEL MINI-SERIES OF ALL TIME).Stella: I'm glad you at least know about Laura. X-23 made her debut on X-Men: Evolution - Season 3, Episode 41: "X-23". marvel.com/videos/695.x-men~colon~_evolution_-_season_3,_episode_41 (Click to view the episode) She later had another episode in X-Men: Evolution - Season 4, Episode 46: "Target X". marvel.com/animation/x-men~colon~_evolution/start/168You can check out her wiki page ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-23), which is actually quite accurate in my opinion.

I'm actually really looking forward to what Marjorie Liu has to offer. She is featured in this week's Marvel Hotline where she discusses about her initial encounter to X-23. I'm very happy that she expressed the same sentiment as many other close fans of X-23 such as myself, and I'm excited that Liu will be bringing X-23 back to her very, very dark and sensitive NYX times and will even be bringing Kiden Nixon and the other NYX kids who pretty much saved X-23's life . Actually, I'm gonna go back on what I said. I sounded a little more negative than i really feel. I'm just not liking this whole dark Wolverine thing goin on right now and i guess I just connected her name to the title in my head. But it looks good. I'd love to see an ongoing with X-23 (idk, is there any talk about that right now?) Also, thanks for the link. I'm in the process of recording A podcast right now and I'm actually gonna add that right now.

I really enjoy X-23, I think Marvel has done a good job of letting her shine every so often and not just flooding the market with product. I think her back story and her tragedy is what really attracted me to her, the way her mind works, the way she's been used by men. I really want to see her push past that and really evolve as a character and at the slow pace they've used.

Yes, there are both trade paperbacks and hardcovers. Thanks for the advice - I've now ordered 'X-23: Innocence Lost' from Amazon and I'm looking forward to reading it.

Finally got the "X-23" one-shot a few hours ago and just finished reading. Gotta say, I'm not too pleased; not at all (and this is coming from a die-hard Laura fan). Will try and throw a brief review later this week. One last note, I think it's quite sad when a reader reads a comic book and thinks that the character intro at the beginning was the best page in the entire book.

Well, this does not give me hope about Black Widow's series since Liu is also writing that. She seems like a relative newcomer, coming out of the romance novel trade, but I've read she's had some experience in the X-books prior to this. I'm sorry Noctis! I know what it feels like to have a crappy character-return!

'X-23: Innocence Lost' arrived in the post this morning so I'll clear some time at the weekend to sit down and read it in one sitting - looking forward to posting my comments.
I also ordered the one-shot which should arrive by Saturday ...

I know what it feels like to have a crappy character-return! Yeah, I thought that after hearing her sentiments for Laura's history and how she became who she is now (just listen to the recent Marvel Hotline marvel.com/news/comicstories.11657.marvel_hotline~colon~_marjorie_liu ), Liu would show us how much Laura has grown up and became a much stronger person since her horrible NYX days, but instead it seemed like Liu made Laura look annoyingly weak and a "oh-woe-is-meeee!!!" emo. All in all, I wish I read the issue first before getting it because I kinda regret it. Thankfully X-23 is still a strong, key character in the on-going X-Force series as well as one of the main supporting characters in the new "Pixie Strikes Back" mini-series.
