Alright, time for another DC character topic. This time, I'm going with another favorite of mine, Roy Harper (Speedy/Arsenal/Red Arrow) A great character who has been kind of screwed around by DC. He's currently deeply involved in The Rise & Fall event at DC. Anyone else like/dislike Roy? Honestly, he's my favorite along with Dina, in the arrow family.

Do you mean Dinah Lance, ie. Black Canary?
I have to say I agree with you. 1. Roy is a great character and I really started liking him when I began reading JLA from the OYL start-over. 2. Yes, the character has really been screwed with. I just found out about his daughter, which is rather upsetting. :/

Lol, yup. I always forget to put that h at the end. I think Roy is one of the most underrated characters in DC right now. He really needs his own series. Although they're moving to Green Arrow #1 in a few months and right before that his mini-series has him fighting Ollie. My theory, along with some other people's, is that Roy will take out Ollie and become the new Green Arrow. So then he might get his own series.

I to love the "arrow" family. So anyone is there is good. I think that is a series as a whole that doesn't get to much lovin'. I much say though I'm a very big Ollie fan. I do like Roy too. In the Super Hero Card game I play . . oh ya it happened. (called VS System). Roy has some bad ass cards. In fact. the cards Teen Titans Go! and Roy was the combo to beat for a long time . . . anyway. I thought that was a fun fact.

Sometimes I find the need to restart series vexing. Green Arrow/Black Canary got to, what, #30? Now they're starting a new series? Though, if your thoughts are correct, I guess the #1 is warranted.

What I mean is The story for Rise of Arsenal #4 is Roy goes to kill the man who was responsible for destroying Star City, and by that, killing Liane. Ollie, who has already had the gauntlet thrown at him for killing Prometheus, is probably going to try and stop Roy from making a mistake he's going to regret. If the cover is true, the two get into a fight. This issue comes out the same month as Green Arrow #1. So what I'm saying is either he beats Ollie so badly that Ollie can no longer be Green Arrow, Ollie leaves, or...dare I say it? Ollie is killed. And Roy then takes up the Green Arrow suit. The only problem with that is Green Arrow #1 is also supposed to have some kind of "miracle" happen in Star City. I hope it's not everyone that died, lives, because that would take away from Liane's death. But honestly, Roy or someone else taking up the Green Arrow costume, is the only way to reason a #1.

That, my friend, is a major "s*** hitting the fan" scenario! That would be intense! I'll be interested to see what goes down!

I kind of hope I'm right, even though it probably won't go down like that. I think it would be a great for Roy to get the spotlight for a change. Of course, I'm sure there's a bunch of Ollie fans that would disagree with me.

I agree that it's time for him to step out from Ollie's shadow. I only wish he and Kendra were still together. I thought that was a good match in JLA.

Well a new interview with J.T. Krull pretty much confirms that it'll be Ollie in the Green Arrow costume. Tis a shame, I think they could've done something new with Roy. What makes me a bit sadder is that it looks like after Rise of Arsenal #4, Roy is probably gonna drop off the radars for awhile.

Ugh...why do comics get rid of good characters?

(Sigh) I don't know. The good thing is J.T. Krull is writing Green Arrow, so hopefully he'll throw Roy in there. But right now I'm not liking how Rise of Arsenal is going. It's too much of Roy's angst. It reminds me of watching the star wars prequels where Anakin Skywalker just ed his way through 3 films.

So I finished Rise of Arsenal and man was it one of the worst mini-series I've read in a long time. The character of Roy Harper is no forever ruined until someone can fix this. Basically? Roy goes crazy and turns into a villain and is now going to be a part of Slade Wilson's Titans.

Wow...just, wow! That really stinks for the character and his fans. I really like Roy while I was reading JLA. What's with all this, "let's turn this hero into a villain" business?
