It's not really merchandise but I'm not sure where else to post this ... I had the very great pleasure of meeting Phil Noto at the recent Bristol International Comic and Small Press Expo and after a long wait in the queue had the chance of a quick chat, got a few of my favourite books signed ... and Mr Noto kindly drew this superb Stephanie Brown as Batgirl sketch for me. [ Here's a larger version of the same picture] I love what he's done here: I feel there's a real sense of calm across Stephanie's face while, at the same time almost, a feeling of excitement and energy in her eyes. I also like the Bat shield that he added to finish the piece off! I also briefly met Lee Garbett but unfortunately he wasn't feeling too well and had to withdraw from his signing/sketching commitments before the day got under way. I'll see him at a show in the city of Exeter later in the year I hope.

That is very cool. The eyes are definitely very well done. Also, how large is that expo?

How awesome! You're so lucky! Now you have TWO different pieces of artwork!

Thanks for your comments guys!
'Also, how large is that expo?'
That's a difficult one to answer Walkka: I suspect it'd be considered a small to medium event compared to some of the North American shows whereas here in England it's considered one of the bigger - and in my opinion best - events. It's held across the function rooms of a couple of neighbouring hotels rather than a 'convention centre' as such and the event organisers really 'push the boat out' when it comes to guests: this year Phil Noto came into the country just to appear at the show, Chris Claremont was in attendance, Ramon Bachs ... I consider myself really fortunate that this event (and a couple of smaller shows from the same promoters) takes place so close to my home town.

Thanks Stella, yes I've been very lucky this year haven't I. My collection is slowly growing and looks really nice framed on my wall - I hope to add to it later in the year at the Exeter Comic Expo when I hope to get another Lee Garbett sketch.
