batgirltooracle.blogspot.com/2010/07/blog-post_17.htmlI had the great pleasure of speaking with Mr. Bryan Q. Miller concerning his run on Batgirl. We discuss what it is like to work with Lee Garbett, the supporting cast of Batgirl, the villains, Stephanie working with other heroes, and we even briefly discuss Cassandra Cain. All this and more, plus listener questions. I really enjoyed speaking with Mr. Miller, and I learned a great deal!

A great interview indeed!!! And WOW did that hour go by FAST!
I was especially interested in the parts about Cassandra and his reasons for her sudden departure. HOWEVER, I personally still do not agree at all with Miller practically disregarding Steph and Cass' past camaraderie in his books--you know...at least drop a line or two of something along the lines of 'Hmm...I wonder what my best friend is doing right now?' or once in a while do those little internal, somewhat schizophrenic dialogs where she'd imagine Cass beside her and ask 'What would you do?' Ever since she left, she's been pretty nonexistent in the 'Batgirl' books. I don't know, maybe I just really miss seeing their little rooftop tag game.*sigh*Anyway, although I personally find his explanation and description of Cass as being merely a weapon (much like how X-23 is usually described both by writers and fellow X-Men) as a bit harsh and is, in a sense, "just seeing the small picture", I still strongly believe that she attributed as much as Barbara to make Steph who she is today.
But all in all, that was a really great interview and I can't wait to see what will happen in Year 2, i.e. the return of Bruce, the Supergirl team-up, 'Valentine's Day' and most importantly, MORE WAFFLES!!!.

I'm glad you all are enjoying it! I was very happy that I had the opportunity to chat with such a great guy.
As for Cassandra fans, I'm still sorry that it happened the way that it did, but I think that creators respect her enough to do something special with her...whenever that may be. I think too much Cass in Steph's book would not work out for Steph and her need to find her own methods that work and find her place in the DCU.
