What do YOU think will happen in Batman 3? This can be anything. Any plot points you think they will hit or themes. Any villains?
This question could be what do you WANT to happen as well. You know. To make it more fun.

I've been debating this ever since The Dark Knight ended. I guess my ideal story would be Bruce quits as Batman as the police are chasing him. The main villain would be The Riddler and because we need another one, I'll just say Black Mask. For the Riddler, I like the concept of him being a rouge cop and is too much for Gordon to handle, so Bruce returns as Batman. I had this debate with a friend of mine: If Batman 3 ends with him dying, I'm gonna be pissed. I feel like Nolan did a fantastic job setting up the world of Batman in the first 2 films. He should end Batman 3 with Bruce as Batman so that a new director with a new cast can continue what he started. My ideal ending would for The Joker (we don't have to see him if Nolan doesn't want to do a re-cast) breaking out of Arkham and Batman chasing him. This was the whole point of Nolan wanting Joker in Batman 3, so just put it at the end.

I really want Black Mask as well. I think it's time Batman used his detective skills, something which has really been lacking in the previous movies. I hope that Nolan doesn't get carried away and have a boatload of villains. Two really should be the MAX for any movie!

I hope that Nolan doesn't get carried away and have a boatload of villains. Two really should be the MAX for any movie! WHAT!? Are you saying Spider-Man 3 sucked because it has more then 2 Villains? What about my favourite movie and a Barbra movie "Batman & Robin" . . . Ya all bad. Anyway I was in the middle of typing this up my version last night to post and then I past out at my keyboard. I'm sorry. What I this needs to happen. The return of Wayne Manor and the Batcave, fully equipped. A new Batmobile. This time a little more stealth because he is on the run from the cops. I think he needs to redeem himself some how in Gotham's eye's and the symbol of that trust could be the return of the Bat-Signal on top of MCU. (though I think that to have been "done already" in begins). I also think the movie needs to end on Bruce being the kind of Batman we know him as in the comics. I do not think Nolan's "end" is him dying. I think the "end" refers to the end of the "Batman Begins" arc. So more to the theme of how a man can be a super hero or "What Gotham needs me to be". So by the end of this movie/trilogy Bruce will have learned how to be a super hero. I think the movie should also end on a classic batman feel. Batman driving after Joker would work. I think this is also a good time to have some proof that this man is the world's greatest Detective. I think the best choice for a villain would be Riddler. He is suppose to be the intellectual equal to the Dark Knight and if I'm planning a battle of brains movie, he is my choice. The other thing that this movie is going to need is a leading lady. I'm not saying Catwoman or Talia. But a Silver St.Cloud or a Viki Vale would fit nicely. If most of that stuff is right then I think it would be cool to see some classic brooding Batman in the Batcave. To keep the feel of being a detective and not a super hero, it could be time to see that famous alternate persona "Matches Malone". Another reason being everyone is looking for Batman. Now that Rachel is dead, I don't think Bruce will get close to anyone anymore and will push his leading lady away even if she is fantastic. The Riddler should also find out who Batman is. I like the thought of him being the lead Detective on finding out who Batman is. FBI would also work. I think Riddler should also have a perfect crime busting record and is not use to being stumped. In his frustration he hires B or even C string villains to do bad so that Batman will come out and stop them and be able to get more clues. All the while we could have a Black Mask vs Penguin take over of Gotham? Another thought is Riddler finds out the identity and then calls in Bane to finish the job? Both those I don't like much. If Bane breaks Batman's back in this movie, it will be both lame and the "end" of Batman. I'm not sure Nolan wanted to end it like that. However I would like move of a Murder Mystery feel to the movie so a good begining would be Batman is framed for a political murder and Bruce needs to figure it out. All the while Riddler is trying to find out who Batman is and forcing him to appear in these other locations to save lives rather then have time to figure things out? What I want to see happen. Catwoman. I think she would work puuurrrrfectly here. The perfect woman for Bruce comes along right after Rachel dies and Bruce pushes her away. I also don't think we need to see Catwoman but then fans might be pissed. I think Catwoman would be a little much in my story but then again she is not evil, she is just a crook. So she COULD play the role of bumping into all around Gotham "helping him" PERFECT! Plus we do need our leading lady. I know it's not going to happen. Yes I feel it might be to much. But this is the fan boy dream part. I think a cool ending could be some tickets to the Circus or a poster in the city. Gordon learning who Batman is and helping him. Mrs. Gordon and his son dying. I think it might be cheap to do that now though after The events in the dark knight. I think that covers most everything. P.S. I know this would never happen either but Batman VS Lex would be fun.

No, I actually really like Spider-Man 3 (one of the few) and Batman and Robin (one of the even fewer), but I do think that it is better to focus and develop fewer villains rather than more.

Wow. Then what movies do you like that has 3 villains that you don't like. Because in my eyes those 2 are the worst.

I don't know...I just know it's too much. Even though I like Spider-Man 3, I still thought it was too much.

There's no way they could do three villains, and still try and focus on Batman AND Bruce Wayne. Also, it just doesn't go with Nolan's style. He's used 2 villains for the last 2 Batman movies. I really don't think he's going to mess with that formula.

Ya neither do I, I was just being devil's advocate and sarcastic. I don't think 3 villains works ever. Spider-Man 3 was bad, Batman and Robin was bad all and all bad.
On that note though I think what be did in begins would work. Have a villain or 2 cameo'd like what he did with Mr. Zasaz.

Wow, I didn't even know Zsasz had a cameo in Batman Begins...and I just realized his name is a palindrome!

Yeah, Zsasz was the bald headed guy with the tattoo's in the court scene in the beginning. He also was in the riot at the end who was trying to kill Rachel and the little kid. Also, even though his name was never mentioned, it's pretty obvious that the Asian guy who was taking care of the mob's money in The Dark Knight was The Calculator.

Wow...all these subtle bits! I'm proud of Nolan for bringing in characters without throwing them in your face! I'm still hoping for Black Mask. We've already had a real gang-feel in the first two movie.

Black Mask needs to be in batman 3.
Also, I was stoked when i saw zsasz in Batman Begins because he's a pretty gnarly bad guy and he's always been one of my favorites, even though he hasn't been around as long as some other villains.

Since Two-Face and Joker killed all the mob bosses, Black Mask would be great as someone taking power and posing a serious threat. Riddler could be a police detective trying to take down Batman and the Mob, one of his stings could go bad and make him lose his job, causing him to go insane. He has collected evidence about Batman's identity and tries to sell it to Black Mask and the mob. They work together to physiologically destroy Batman by giving Gotham City clues to Batman's identity, but Riddler tries to redeem himself (he would be more of a vigilante than villain) and kills Black Mask, taking control of the mafia and trying to destroy it from the inside. He would think Batman is also a criminal, but Batman asks him a question that he can't answer about heroes and villains, and which one Edward Nygma would be. Riddler realizes for the first time in his life he was wrong and he has a breakdown. Batman is redeemed and to quote one year later when Bruce came back, the batsignal is lit Gordon and his fellow officers hear yelling from the streets, at first they think they are rioting, but they are revealed to actually be cheering. A great coda would be Riddler in a cell at Arkham, muttering he knows who Batman his and repeating Batman's quote. His psychologist comes in, one Doctor Hugo Strange, sayinjg he can only help if Edward tells him who is responsible. Riddler smiles, saying "Bruce Wayne." Strange gives him a grim smile, unlocks Riddler's straight jacket, sits down, and says "tell me more." That would be a great cliffhanger for whoever wants to continue the franchise once Nolan steps down.

Part of me (the bad, childlike part) would like to see an adaptation of Knightfall, because I still like that storyline. But I don't think it would work in Nolan's movie continuity, certainly not without huge changes.
In reality, anything loosely based on someone like Riddler or Penguin would be good, and I imagine that's what we'll get. Either that or maybe a follow-up to the Ra's Al Ghul stuff from Begins? (Talia as big villain, maybe?)
